Meet Pastor Randy

The one thing I won’t leave home without is: my phone

In my spare time you’ll find me: practicing archery, working on or around the house, playing board or table games with my family, watching a movie or TV show with Faye

You’ll never catch me eating: tomatoes

First Car: 1965 American Rambler

Favorite Movie: Avatar

TV Show watched as a kid: Tarzan

TV Show now: Mountain Men, Alaska the last Frontier, Alaskan Bush People or Ultimate Alaska Survival

Randy and Faye served as the Executive Directors  of a high sierra Christian Camp near Lake Tahoe  from 1994 to 2005.  Randy has served churches and denominations as Worship Pastor, Evangelism Director, Pastor and Executive Director.  He was asked to serve the Church on Mariposa in June of 2005.

Here's everything you've ever wanted to know about Pastor Randy and were afraid to ask:

Born: June 24, 1953 (Yes I'm that old! Ugh! But I feel and think young!)

Married: December 16, 1995

Family:  Faye (wife and best friend)

Favorite Verse: Isaiah 40:31 “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Wise Financial Decision:  Give and it will be given to you.  Also, "One who gathers money little by little makes it grow." Proverbs 13:11

Three words to describe me would be: "Pastorpreneur", Innovative and Leader

The Last Book I read was: How God Makes Men:  Ten Epic Stories by Patrick Morley and “Convict Conditioning: How to Bust Free of All Weakness-Using the Lost Secrets of Supreme Survival Strength” by Paul “Coach” Wade

I do my best thinking:  In the office at church

I always smile when I: Drink my coffee and smell the cool air of the morning

Sport to Watch: Baseball (River Cats) or Basketball (go Kings)

Sport to Play: I love to backpack, camp, fish, canoe, kayak, hunt, archery and everything that goes with those things.

If you ask me there could never be enough: Spending time with my family

Ice Cream: Not very often because it puts me to sleep (Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough or Moose Tracks)

Favorite M&M Color: I’m allergic to M&Ms, they give me the “Done Lap” Disease (done lapped over my belt)

Gifts: Pastor/Teacher, Leadership (Romans 12:8; Ephesians 4:11-13

An Impression on People:

"Pastor Randy is one of the most unique Pastors I have had the privilege to work with. He has just the right amount of what it takes to be a faithful Man of God and Friend ... a Leader and a Listener ... an encourager and equipper.

First: He gives himself fully to God. Pastor Randy has a passion to serve the Lord and to lead His People. His care is genuine, his smile is real and you can see his servant's heart in his Love/Compassion and Humor!

Second: The man you see ... is the Man of God you get! Pastor Randy does not have an "on and off" switch. Whether you are having a conversation or you are in the sanctuary listening to the inspired word of God ... You will find Pastor Randy to be the same Humble/Loving/Comical person. Kind of like ... What you see is what you get ... Praise the Lord!

Third: Pastor Randy is in touch with the world around us. He has an ability to impact his messages with humor, real (personal and family) issues and an understanding of God's Word that makes it accessible to all."

---Jim Goodrich, Worship Leader and Co-Founder of Holy Blues Bros.

It is Pastor Randy's wish that you would feel comfortable and enjoy "coming to church" so that you listen and do absolutely nothing or dive right in and be a part of an organization that cares.

He realizes, like many that already "come to church," that all of our lives will be better, full, meaningful and filled with hope because of the wonderful principles of successful living as shared in God's Word. We always look forward to it!

And so will you!

See you at the Church on Mariposa...
